The Central Government on October 4 extended the credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs till March 31, 2022.
The Credit Guarantee Scheme for Subordinate Debt (CGSSD) was approved for stressed MSMEs on June 1, 2020. It was launched on June 24 in same year aimed towards providing credit facility through lending institutions to the promoters of stressed MSMEs.
The MSME Ministry on Monday said, “On the basis of the requests received from the stakeholders of the scheme, the Government has decided to further extend it by a period of another six months beyond 30.09.2021. The scheme will now remain operational till 31.03.2022.”
